New $101 million human aging research prize
XPRIZE Healthspan is a 7-year global competition to revolutionize the way we approach human aging. The competition for 101 million dollar prize, the largest ever, will be awarded to innovators who utilize technology to enable aging adults live longer with a better quality of life. Requirements are that treatment must last 1 year or less and last 10 years or more. Semi-finals announces in 2024, finals 2025 and ending 2026.

A new version of Seeing AI has recently been released by Microsoft. Seeing AI is a free app that narrates things in the users surrounding world. Designed with, and for, the blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the power of AI to open up the visual world by verbally describing nearby people, text and objects for those using the app.
On-line fashion campaign helps reduce stigma
Mercado Livre, a Brazilian on-line retailer ran an interactive campaign that lets viewers choose the body type they wish to see with clothes shown on. The campaign features outfits from brands such as Nike and Levi’s and was developed in partnership with creative agency Gut. The content is on an AI-based platform and is a clever, strategic way to resonate with a wider, more diverse demographic.
